The establishment of the irrigation dam at mafunde irrigation schemes in the area of Traditional Authority Ndindi in Salima has helped to fight hunger in the District.
The remarks were made by T/A Ndindi yesterday when officials from Salima ADD visited the site including the factory which is under construction where there will be processing rice and cooking oil.
Chief Ndindi appealed to the general public and farmers to take care of the development so that they will purely benefit for the betterment of their lives.
The scheme is 500 hectors in total and it is operating under Mafunde Water Users Association.
And Programs Manager at Salima ADD Richard Mgomezulu supplicated with the farmers to make use of the project and the factory since this is their chance to transform from poverty to prosperity.
