Various gospel music artists in the country have teamed up for a Mother’s day gospel music concert scheduled to take place on October 15, 2018 at Robin’s Park in Blantyre.
The event which aims at appreciating mothers’ love and care will be celebrated under the theme ‘Azimayi Tingathe’.
In an interview on Friday, the event organizer, Dan Kelly said that this year’s concert is unique in that it will be used as a platform of encouraging women realize that they are capable of participating different vocations including advancing the gospel through music.
“The theme for this event is ‘Amayi Tingathe’ which simply means that all women can manage to change somebody’s life and as a sign of respect and appreciation there is a need for Malawians to take their mothers to such an event,” he pointed out.
Among other gospel musicians who are going to headline the occasion are Favoured Martha, Miracle Chinga, King James Phiri, The Great Angels Choir, Shammah Vocals, Phalyce Mang’anda, as well as Thoko Suya.
Kelly told Malawi News Agency (Mana) that there would be a lot of supporting artists and as one way of surprising the fans, they are going to introduce a new female artist known as Doreen Liwonde Jimu.
The organizer finally said that there are other activities which are going to take place amidst the event, for example the first 20 people to arrive are going to get a Mother’s day Chitenje.
The event is going to see people paying K2, 000 per head at the door and advance tickets are already available at Blantyre Kips opposite AXA bus depot, Kapenga Restaurant in Limbe and Overcomers shop at Puma Shoprite.-Mana
